Job description

About the Role

We are an international business specializing in fashion distribution utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as our primary ERP system, fully integrated with warehouse management, eCommerce, and marketplace platforms. We seek a dedicated Business Central specialist who will focus exclusively on supporting, enhancing, and refining this platform. This position is concentrated solely on Business Central, without the distraction of managing multiple disparate systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle daily technical support for Business Central across company entities, resolving issues related to postings, integrations, permissions, and data inquiries.
  • Create and maintain AL extensions adhering strictly to Microsoft's development standards and best practices suitable for AppSource, emphasizing event subscribers rather than base app modifications, structured object models, and smooth upgrade paths.
  • Collaborate with our external development team on major projects by reviewing code submissions, testing deliverables against requirements, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring scope integrity.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot our integration framework, including Warehouse Management System interfaces and Shopify, identifying root causes for failures and proposing effective long-term solutions.
  • Leverage AI technologies actively in daily workflows, utilizing AI-assisted coding tools, Business Central-specific Copilot features, and AI agents when beneficial, demonstrating curiosity and proficiency with these innovations.
  • Translate complex business demands into precise technical specifications, advising on standard Business Central solutions before recommending customizations.
  • Maintain system environments by managing sandbox updates, deploying extensions, reviewing telemetry data, administering feature toggles, and preparing for major software upgrades.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels — from warehouse personnel to finance leaders to executive management — adapting communication to each audience’s needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • More than five years of practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV with recent cloud experience in BC in technical or techno-functional roles.
  • Strong AL development skills within Visual Studio Code, including creating table and page extensions, codeunits, event subscribers, APIs, and report layouts, with deep familiarity with the base application to select optimal event-driven solutions.
  • Strict adherence to Microsoft’s official guidelines and community best practices, actively engaging with Microsoft Learn resources and top BC blog content.
  • Solid functional knowledge of Business Central’s core processes such as the posting engine, dimensions, posting groups, item ledger, and warehouse management structures.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude), combined with critical judgment to evaluate generated outputs.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to review and challenge requirements, identify overlooked cases, anticipate downstream impacts, and prioritize effective problem-solving over ticket closure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with end-users, finance teams, external partners, and senior executives, communicating patiently, precisely, and concisely.
  • A proactive attitude with enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Previous experience in retail or distribution sectors is essential.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse) integrated with Business Central environments.
  • Background in fashion industry implementations.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and GIT version control systems for source code management and issue tracking.
  • Possession of Microsoft certifications such as MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant) or AL developer credentials.
