Information Technology Asset Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned IT Assets Manager to oversee enterprise-level IT Asset Management (ITAM), configuration management database (CMDB), infrastructure discovery, and service dependency mapping across diverse environments including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid. This position involves being the primary technical and operational authority over the Device42 platform, ensuring precise asset information, effective discovery methods, dependable CMDB governance, application dependency mapping, integration management, and readiness for audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and steer the IT Asset Management strategy encompassing governance, lifecycle processes, policies, and standards to uphold data quality.
• Act as administrator and owner of the Device42 system, handling discovery processes, Remote Collectors, CMDB maintenance, service mapping, reporting, API integration, upgrades, security, and troubleshooting tasks.
• Plan and execute discovery strategies covering servers, VMware, network components, storage solutions, databases, middleware, container technologies, and cloud platforms.
• Implement controls to guarantee CMDB data integrity through reconciliation, normalization, deduplication, ownership assignment, and configuration management.
• Manage application and service dependency mapping to facilitate impact analyses, change management, capacity planning, cybersecurity initiatives, and disaster recovery.
• Oversee integrations between Device42 and platforms such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy, along with monitoring, vulnerability management, cloud services, and automation systems.
• Create dashboards and comprehensive reports illustrating asset lifecycle stages, discovery completeness, CMDB condition, compliance status, usage metrics, warranty coverage, and technology risk factors.
• Ensure governance frameworks are maintained for assets, preparing for audits, lifecycle handling, secure disposal, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Lead the IT Assets team while collaborating cross-functionally with infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, procurement, finance, IT service management, risk, audit, and business units.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and support partners, maintain SLAs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar disciplines.
• Between 8 and 12 years of experience in IT infrastructure, ITAM, CMDB, discovery, or ITSM roles, with at least 3 years in leadership or managerial capacities.
• Proven hands-on administration experience with Device42, including discovery, CMDB management, dependency mapping, reporting, API usage, and system integrations.
• Solid understanding of ITAM principles, ITIL framework, configuration management, CMDB governance, and infrastructure technology.
• Experience integrating with ServiceNow and/or BMC Remedy platforms is advantageous.
• Competency in REST APIs, JSON, SQL, PowerShell or Python scripting, automation practices, and reporting capabilities.
• Exposure to regulated sectors such as government, financial services, or insurance enhances candidacy.

Preferred Certifications

• Device42 official training or certification.
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification or higher.
• Industry-recognized ITAM credentials such as IAITAM, CITAM, CSAM, or CHAMP.
• Certifications related to ServiceNow Discovery/Service Mapping, BMC, cloud technologies, VMware, ISO 27001/20000, COBIT, or cybersecurity are beneficial.
