Role Overview
The IT Application Support position is tasked with maintaining the seamless functioning, upkeep, and troubleshooting of the organization's business applications. This role acts as the primary interface for application-related concerns and collaborates closely with end-users, internal IT teams, and external vendors to resolve issues, enhance system performance, and uphold business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and fix application problems reported by users to minimize operational disruption.
- Offer guidance and training to users on application features and optimal usage.
- Continuously monitor application performance and address any arising issues.
- Assist in application configuration as per business needs and support integration with other systems.
- Liaise with software vendors and IT departments to address technical challenges.
- Keep knowledge base articles, manuals, and troubleshooting documentation up to date.
- Support application maintenance including updates, patches, and version upgrades.
- Ensure adherence of applications to company security protocols, industry standards, and data privacy regulations.
- Identify areas for improving system efficiency, streamlining workflows, and enhancing user experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Advanced courses or certifications related to insurance are desirable.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in IT application support or similar roles, preferably in insurance or financial sectors.
- Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Azure Fundamentals, or other relevant credentials are advantageous.
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience working with enterprise-level applications including ERP, CRM, or insurance-specific software.
- Proficiency with databases such as SQL and Oracle, with ability to perform queries for troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of APIs, system integrations, and scripting for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management platforms like ManageEngine and JIRA.
- Foundational networking knowledge to help troubleshoot connectivity issues affecting applications.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, collaboration, and customer service capabilities.
