Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and development of concept designs and make key product decisions.
• Innovate by developing new materials and material combinations tailored to specific functional goals.
• Partner with the design team to enhance concepts using your expertise in color, material, and finish (CMF), maintaining detailed documentation of CMF specifications.
• Create Product Graphic Designs for physical models and packaging, ensuring they meet brand standards.
• Work collaboratively within the broader Product team to coordinate development schedules, design integration, and manufacturing viability for products and packaging.
• Engage with suppliers to design, test, and validate novel material ideas.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers to specify CMF requirements and approve prototype samples and first articles.
• Stay at the forefront of material innovation by conducting thorough research, testing, and collaboration to track new trends and advancements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or an equivalent field.
• Between 3 and 5 years of experience in Industrial or Product Design, preferably with consumer goods, lifestyle hardware, or related physical products.
• Proficient with industry-standard design and visualization software such as Rhino, Vizcom, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Practical and hands-on approach in prototyping and testing.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to multitask and strong attention to detail.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and adapt quickly.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is advantageous for communication with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
• Willingness and ability to travel as part of the role.
