The Global Indirect Tax team within our EMEA VAT function, based in Dublin, ensures compliant and scalable expansion by collaborating with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams. This role — Indirect Tax Manager, EMEA VAT — emphasizes strategic VAT management, compliance, technological optimization, and risk oversight, translating complex regulations into practical, scalable solutions that support cross-border trade and robust governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions within EMEA, encompassing EU VAT Directive, UK VAT, OSS/IOSS regulations, and deemed supplier provisions.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine tax determination systems, enhance reporting accuracy, and maintain data integrity for scalable VAT processes.
• Convert intricate VAT regulatory requirements into clear system logic and business requirements to facilitate platform and tax engine upgrades.
• Oversee VAT compliance tasks including filings, coordination with shared service centers and external advisors, while driving continuous process improvements.
• Handle VAT audit processes and interactions with tax authorities, developing strategies to resolve issues efficiently.
• Track and implement legislative changes across systems and business workflows.
• Deliver VAT-related guidance and training to cross-functional teams to support business growth, expansions, and governance initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 7–8 years of experience in indirect tax roles, specifically managing VAT matters throughout the EMEA region.
• Deep familiarity with EU and UK VAT legislation, cross-border trade complexities, and digital compliance mandates.
• Proven ability to integrate VAT expertise within technology frameworks such as tax engines, ERP platforms (e.g., SAP S/4HANA), and automation solutions.
• Experience transforming regulatory VAT clauses into practical operational procedures and technological system specifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal departments.
• Track record in leading VAT audits and engaging constructively with tax authorities.
• Excellent analytical and research capabilities for assessing legislative developments and business impacts.
• Clear and concise communicator, skilled at explaining complex VAT concepts to varied audiences.

Preferred Education and Additional Attributes

• Academic degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, Law, Information Systems, or related disciplines; professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience in public accounting or within a multinational corporation environment.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of other European languages is a benefit.
• Familiarity with data analytics and AI tools is a plus.
• Willingness to operate in a hybrid work mode from our Dublin office and collaborate across different time zones.
