About the Role

Kristin School, a co-educational and independent school located in Auckland's North Shore, is seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to join its Inclusive Learning team. This full-time, permanent position based at the Albany campus supports neurodiverse students and learners requiring additional help across Years 7 to 13. The school offers dual pathways through NCEA and International Baccalaureate programmes to a student body of over 1800 learners in a nurturing environment dedicated to values of progress, vision, integrity, and love.

Key Responsibilities

The primary objective is to enhance access and engagement for diverse learners by identifying specific educational needs and collaborating with classroom teachers to eliminate barriers. Your role will involve:

• Providing targeted teaching assistance to small groups of Year 11 and 12 students through supported study classes.
• Conducting assessments and identifying students eligible for special assessment conditions (SACs) including screening and ongoing monitoring.
• Supporting transitions and ensuring effective communication with teachers and year level deans.
• Participating actively in school-wide initiatives including the annual camp and co-curricular activities.
• Teaching at least one subject line during the school cycle, such as Year 9 Physical Education, up to seven periods per week.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a New Zealand registered teacher with qualifications and proven experience in inclusive education, specifically:

• A solid track record in working successfully with neurodiverse learners.
• Expertise in administering SAC testing and handling related applications.
• Ability to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Relationship-building skills with multiple stakeholders, including students, colleagues, and families.

The position starts in January 2027 at the Albany location with park-like grounds.
