Role Overview

Based in Derrimut, Victoria, this full-time position as an Import Export Coordinator involves overseeing daily import and export operations. Key duties include preparing and verifying shipping and customs documentation, coordinating bookings with carriers, and tracking shipments to guarantee punctual delivery. Maintaining communication with customers, suppliers, and internal departments is essential for resolving inquiries, updating shipment statuses, and ensuring accurate record-keeping in company systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day import and export shipping activities including document preparation and shipment monitoring.
• Coordinate carrier bookings and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to address shipment queries and provide updates.
• Maintain precise records across logistics systems and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• Support customs clearance processes and assist in resolving shipment delays or discrepancies.
• Demonstrate proactive follow-up and deliver customer-focused service with high accuracy and organizational capability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Solid practical experience in import and export operations, including a thorough understanding of export documentation preparation and verification.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate, manage expectations, and build positive relationships.
• Knowledgeable about international freight procedures for both sea and air shipments, customs regulations, and compliance standards.
• Proficient in freight or logistics management systems alongside intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple shipments and meet deadlines concurrently.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and capability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.
• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain coordination is preferred; vocational training or tertiary education in logistics or related fields is advantageous.
