IF1 Floor Person - Day Shift

Role Overview

The IF1 Floor Person is responsible for the timely removal of condemned products from floor areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with USDA, OSHA, and company policies. This role focuses on maintaining clear walkways, drains, and production floors to support operational excellence within the processing facility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Locate and promptly remove condemned products especially near walkways, drains, and standing water.
• Transport identified products to designated condemned containers.
• Clean floors occasionally using handheld water brooms as needed.
• Monitor and maintain unrestricted flow in all drains within production zones.
• Actively participate as a team member by attending meetings, contributing to team cohesion, and collaborating on organizational goals.
• Understand and support Simmons’ operating systems and company policies related to quality, security, and workplace environment.
• Perform other tasks supportive of business objectives as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional stair and ladder climbing, pushing/pulling efforts.
• Frequent neck and waist twisting, kneeling, grasping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous walking, standing, bending, squatting, fine manual manipulation, and repetitive shoulder, arm, and hand movements.
• Must effectively work in an industrial plant environment.

Safety and Protective Equipment

Mandatory use of standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, and hearing protection.

Industry and Technical Experience

General familiarity with processing facility operations is preferred; no specific technical expertise required.

Educational and Additional Information

No minimum educational qualification specified. Military experience is valued and encouraged.

Additional Details

This position demands a proactive approach to identifying cohesion issues and supporting team synergy. Travel is not required. The role emphasizes adherence to company operating systems and willingness to contribute beyond designated duties.
