IBDP Mandarin Teacher

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced educator specialized in Mandarin to teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at our school in Singapore. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep subject expertise and effective pedagogical methods to inspire and guide students in mastering Mandarin.

Key Duties

• Employs thorough knowledge of Mandarin and teaching techniques to deliver engaging lessons.
• Supports curriculum development and study planning to enhance student learning.
• Introduces innovative study methods to encourage consistent and enthusiastic learner engagement.
• Provides insightful course analysis to captivate student interest and deepen understanding.
• Designs and submits lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for academic coordinator approval.
• Crafts inquiry-based, concept-focused lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs and incorporate formative and summative assessment feedback.
• Revises lesson strategies in response to coordinator feedback to ensure teaching effectiveness.
• Incorporates modern teaching technologies and aids to enrich classroom instruction.
• Creates stimulating and supportive learning environments that foster student participation and success.
• Develops supplementary educational resources such as worksheets, handouts, and assessment materials.
• Ensures prompt grading and feedback on student assignments.
• Mentors and supervises students on the Extended Essay related to Mandarin language within the IB framework.

Child Protection Responsibilities

• Protects and promotes the physical and emotional well-being of students under their care.
• Adheres to safeguarding and child protection policies vigilantly.
• Reports any concerns regarding student safety or welfare to designated school authorities without delay.
• Maintains strict confidentiality while acting in the best interests of students at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Mandarin Language.
• Holds a Master's degree in the subject along with an international teaching certification qualifying for IB accreditation.
• Brings 3 to 5 years of practical teaching experience within the IB educational system.
• Is proficient with computers and educational software.
• Demonstrates strong digital literacy and technology integration skills.
• Capable of supporting blended and hybrid learning modalities effectively.
• Applies principles of Digital Pedagogy competently to enhance teaching outcomes.

Additional Information

• Work schedule includes five days per week.
• Location: Onsite in Singapore.
