Job description
Overview
A prominent Oil & Gas manufacturing company is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer or Lead HVAC Engineer specialized in modular technical buildings. The role demands comprehensive HVAC design expertise, proficiency in industry software, and familiarity with relevant standards to deliver optimal solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Propose cost-effective HVAC solutions aligned with client and project needs.
- Develop timely HVAC deliverables based on client specifications and information.
- Prepare important documentation such as datasheets, HVAC heating and cooling load calculations, design philosophies, control philosophies, IO lists, P&IDs, and equipment datasheets.
- Review and approve vendor submissions including HVAC equipment general arrangements, refrigerant schematics, fan and equipment selections.
- Create Change Requests (CRS) to submit revised documents when necessary.
- Conduct engineering calculations covering external static pressure, ventilation requirements, fresh air volume, U-values, and duct heating.
- Draft Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and assist in vendor selection for purchase orders.
- Design and select equipment compliant with hazardous area project requirements.
- Review 3D models to ensure accurate design implementation.
- Provide explanations and support to construction teams regarding deliverables.
- Perform HVAC estimations for bids and coordinate with stakeholders to gather information for accurate cost assessments.
- Coordinate with project teams to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Participate in daily and weekly meetings internally and with clients.
- Support procurement by reviewing and approving OEM/vendor offers according to project specifications.
- Submit as-built drawings following completion of Inspection-Factory Acceptance Tests (I-FAT).
- Execute any other tasks deemed necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 12 years of professional experience in HVAC engineering.
- Expertise in HVAC design for modular technical buildings.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software, particularly Carrier HAP.
- Preferred experience with AutoCAD and 3D design software.
- Strong understanding of HVAC disciplines and technical standards.
- Familiarity with industry codes such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, and SMACNA.
Additional Information
This is a full-time position based onsite in Dubai. The salary range offered is AED 15,000 to AED 25,000 per month.
