HVAC Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an experienced HVAC Engineer with a strong specialization in Oil & Gas projects to join our team based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities covering the design, engineering, installation, commissioning, operation, and upkeep of HVAC systems within Oil & Gas facilities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and provide technical expertise for HVAC system designs specific to Oil & Gas facilities.
• Manage HVAC-related tasks throughout all project stages, including engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Supervise HVAC installation ensuring adherence to approved plans, project specifications, and compliance requirements.
• Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC units such as chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), cooling towers, ventilation, and pressurization systems.
• Identify system faults using root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, and operations departments.
• Engage with contractors, vendors, consultants, and clients for seamless project delivery.
• Monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, and budget control.
• Ensure all HVAC activities comply with international codes, client specifications, and health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Review technical documentation such as drawings, calculations, material submissions, and vendor records.
• Assist in system testing, commissioning, handover, and troubleshooting activities.
• Document technical reports, maintenance logs, inspections, and engineering records.
• Offer recommendations to enhance HVAC system reliability, efficiency, and performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 8 years of total experience in HVAC engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience specifically on Oil & Gas projects.
• Proven track record managing HVAC project execution and maintenance operations.
• Extensive knowledge in HVAC design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Practical expertise working with chillers, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, ventilation, and pressurization systems.
• Proficient in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Sound understanding of HVAC relevant codes, standards, and HSE regulations.
• Strong problem-solving, analysis, coordination, and documentation capabilities.
• Previous work in Qatar, GCC, or equivalent Oil & Gas environments is highly desirable.
