HVAC Designer

Job Overview

We seek an HVAC Draftsman with at least one year of practical experience to develop HVAC drawings and Bill of Quantities (BOQs). The role requires expertise in AutoCAD, HVAC ducting layouts, and accurate quantity estimation derived from HVAC schematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed HVAC drawings that include ducting, ventilation, and air conditioning layouts using AutoCAD software.
• Generate BOQs by calculating material quantities based on design drawings and layouts.
• Extract quantities for ductwork, insulation, HVAC grilles, diffusers, dampers, piping, and associated equipment.
• Compile and maintain material quantity sheets and BOQs using Excel spreadsheets.
• Examine HVAC drawings and specifications to verify precise quantity calculations.
• Collaborate closely with HVAC engineers and estimation teams to prepare and update BOQs.
• Support quotation, tender processes, and project cost estimation through material take-offs.
• Revise drawings and BOQs according to design modifications and onsite requirements.
• Maintain precision in all drawings, measurements, and quantity computations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• At least one year experience as an HVAC Draftsman or equivalent role involved in BOQ preparation.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting HVAC layouts.
• Fundamental understanding of HVAC systems including ducting, ventilation, and air conditioning principles.
• Experience with preparing BOQs and performing quantity take-offs.
• Competency in MS Excel for documentation and data management.
• Ability to interpret and comprehend HVAC technical drawings and specifications.
• Attention to detail and effective coordination abilities.
