HVAC Design Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop designs for HVAC systems comprising chilled water, VRF/VRV, DX, ventilation, pressurization, and smoke extraction mechanisms.
• Conduct heat load assessments using software such as HAP, TRACE, or their equivalents.
• Create detailed HVAC layout plans, including ducting, piping, plant rooms, risers, schematics, equipment schedules, and perform design calculations.
• Choose appropriate HVAC machinery, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, cooling towers, and fans.
• Ensure all designs adhere to ASHRAE guidelines, NBC norms, local regulations, and client requirements.
• Collaborate closely with architecture, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, structural teams, vendors, and clients for seamless project delivery.
• Develop BOQs, technical specifications, and conduct vendor comparisons based on technical criteria.
• Review and approve shop drawings, address RFIs, perform site inspections, and assist in the testing and commissioning stages.

Candidate Profile

• Sound expertise in HVAC load calculations, ducting design, pipe sizing, psychrometrics, ventilation, and selecting HVAC equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel is essential.
• Familiarity or working knowledge of HAP and Revit software is advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of HVAC standards, codes, and ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Possession of B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in HVAC design projects, preferably in sectors like high-rise residential buildings, commercial complexes, hospitals, hotels, or industrial facilities.
