Job Overview

An established company is looking for a seasoned HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental operations on a large-scale facilities management project. The role involves ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and client standards, developing safety programs, performing audits, and fostering a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the project's HSE Management System.
  • Ensure conformance with company, client, and legal HSE obligations.
  • Lead activities involving risk evaluation and hazard recognition.
  • Carry out investigations of incidents and apply necessary corrective measures.
  • Manage plans for emergency preparedness and response.
  • Oversee HSE compliance of contractors involved in the project.
  • Conduct internal and external HSE audits.
  • Track key performance indicators and produce monthly HSE reports.
  • Deliver training sessions and heighten awareness relating to health and safety.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Encourage and sustain a robust safety culture throughout the project.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, science, occupational health & safety, environmental management or related fields.
  • Mandatory NEBOSH International General Certificate.
  • Certification as ISO 45001 Internal or Lead Auditor.
  • Certification as ISO 14001 Internal or Lead Auditor.
  • Training in risk assessment, incident investigation, emergency response, fire safety, and permit-to-work systems.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in HSE roles.
  • Minimum 3 years in a managerial or supervisory HSE position.
  • Experience preferred in facilities management, industrial operations, logistics, warehousing, food storage, port operations, or high-risk environments.

Essential Competencies

  • Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing contractor HSE performance.
  • Skills in risk assessment and incident investigation.
  • Capability in emergency preparedness and audit management.
  • Proficiency in HSE performance reporting.
  • Strong liaison skills with clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
