Overview

The HSE Administrator role is integral in facilitating the implementation of safety, environmental, and quality programs by providing consistent administrative support. Duties include tasks relating to hazard assessment, scheduling training sessions, emergency readiness, and compiling performance reports. The position ensures that safety, health, and environmental protection standards align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Working with moderate oversight, this job involves maintaining effective daily administrative operations through precise and timely completion of assigned tasks, leveraging foundational knowledge acquired via training or relevant experience. Achievement in this role is measured by dependable support that promotes an orderly and efficient workplace, based on qualities such as strong attention to detail, prompt responsiveness, proactive teamwork, efficient time management, and clear communication.

Main Responsibilities

  • Execute routine administrative procedures including data entry, filing, photocopying, and document formatting.
  • Manage official calendars, arrange meetings, and coordinate appointments efficiently.
  • Handle standard inquiries professionally from both internal departments and external contacts.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and assist in basic facility management activities.
  • Support the drafting and dissemination of correspondences and reports.
  • Assist with elementary financial tasks such as invoice processing and monitoring expenses.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and uphold data integrity within various management systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet project objectives and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation and periodic review of safety, health, and environmental procedures, safety alerts, and internal communications.
  • Provide preliminary guidance and information on SH&EP topics to promote safe work environments.
  • Compile and relay SH&EP performance indicators to supervisory management.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environment policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all Trade Controls policies and applicable regulations.
  • Apply Babcock’s Principles consistently in all activities whether working independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a valid Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Current and unrestricted Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence.
  • Formal qualifications in Business Administration, Safety, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience imparting comparable skills.
  • Australian citizenship with eligibility to secure and retain Defence Security Clearance.
  • Previous experience performing similar administrative support tasks.
  • Proficiency with common office tools and software, notably the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide exemplary customer or internal stakeholder support.
