Job Overview

This position, HR Systems Analyst (Security & Integrations), manages the functional design, development, and upkeep of Workday’s integration layer alongside its security configuration to support all users within the platform. The analyst ensures the design, testing, and strengthening of integrations between Workday and other systems and configures security groups and policies aligned with IRC’s data classification standards. The role also automates high-volume, structured People & Culture processes and escalates complex, cross-departmental design matters to the Global HR Systems Product Manager.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and support Workday integrations using tools such as EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and ideally Orchestrate to facilitate data exchange with payroll, benefits providers, and third-party systems.
  • Lead functional design activities for Workday security and integrations, directing complex decisions to the Global HR Systems Product Manager.
  • Set up and maintain Workday security groups, business process security policies, and domain security policies in compliance with IRC’s data classification guidelines.
  • Create and sustain rule-based automation for high-volume, structured processes like bulk data uploads, account provisioning, permissions management, and location/hierarchy configuration using Orchestrate and EIBs.
  • Continuously monitor integration operations, diagnose failures promptly, and implement corrective actions before issues escalate formally.
  • Test and verify integrations and security settings during Workday updates and functional changes.
  • Gather and analyze requirements from HR and other departments, mapping necessary data elements.
  • Collaborate with HRIS, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to identify optimization opportunities within current Workday practices.
  • Generate reports and dashboards tracking integration performance and security adherence.
  • Handle additional special projects as assigned.

Working Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Global HR Systems Product Manager.
  • Works closely with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Information Security departments internally.
  • Interfaces externally with vendors such as Workday, Cornerstone, and ADP.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification accompanied by 4 or more years’ professional experience managing data integrations between enterprise software solutions.
  • Proven hands-on expertise creating and maintaining Workday integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio; familiarity with Workday Orchestrate is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of Workday’s security framework, including security groups and business/domain security policies.
  • Knowledge of data security and classification regulations like GDPR or equivalents.
  • Experience handling large datasets with a strong grasp of data relationships and cleansing methods.
  • Intermediate knowledge of relational database concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Self-driven and able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and flexible in scheduling.
  • Experience in a globally distributed work environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems is beneficial.

Preferred Skills

  • Workday Pro certification in Integrations or Security is highly valued.
  • Experience within international nonprofit organizations managing systems across diverse IT infrastructures with intermittent connectivity.
  • Background in data migration and systems integration initiatives.

Working Environment and Standards

This role is primarily performed within a typical office setting with flexibility for hybrid office and remote work. IRC values integrity, service, equality, and accountability, and employees are expected to uphold these principles along with related policies on safeguarding, conflict of interest, fiscal integrity, and protection against retaliation.
