About the Role
House of Daisy is a bridal and celebration wear brand located in Gurugram, Haryana. We are seeking an HR Manager to independently manage the entire HR function across our retail stores and in-house production unit. This position reports directly to the founder, offering an opportunity to establish and develop the HR department from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for roles in store operations, production, design, marketing, and back-office areas.
- Work to minimize hiring duration and maintain a pool of qualified candidates for positions with high turnover.
- Ensure staffing needs are fulfilled ahead of peak wedding and festive seasons.
- Issue offer and appointment letters, complete associated documentation, and conduct structured induction programs.
- Manage attendance records, leave applications, and shift schedules for multiple sites.
- Prepare accurate monthly payroll input sheets for the accounts department within set deadlines.
- Administer incentive programs for retail staff and wage structures for production employees.
- Process full and final settlements and exit formalities promptly following defined turnaround times.
- Ensure compliance with current labor laws including new labor codes, EPF, ESI, gratuity, and maternity benefits.
- Maintain establishment registrations and timely file all required statutory returns.
- Form and oversee the POSH Internal Committee, provide annual awareness training, and manage POSH annual returns.
- Maintain audit readiness of the organization with no penalties or late submissions.
- Oversee the complete annual performance management cycle including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and final appraisals.
- Ensure all permanent employees have signed their KRAs, and probation and confirmation decisions are timely and evidence-based.
- Identify and nurture high-performing employees and plan succession for supervisory roles.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee grievances, and manage disciplinary processes through documented warnings and inquiries.
- Address issues related to attendance, conduct, and shift allocation fairly and formally.
- Proactively identify risks of staff attrition and implement mitigation strategies.
- Plan and execute the yearly training program covering client service, product knowledge, grooming, POSH, fire safety, with shop-floor training conducted in Hindi for production staff.
- Link training completion outcomes with confirmation and salary increment decisions.
- Keep comprehensive and compliant personnel records for every employee.
- Draft and continually update the employee handbook and HR policies in both Hindi and English.
- Manage HR information systems, including biometric attendance data accuracy.
- Publish a detailed monthly HR report summarizing headcount, recruitments, exits, attrition rates, open positions, and hiring costs.
- Drive employee engagement efforts, including festival celebrations, recognition programs, and orchestrating retention plans for peak seasons.
- Conduct exit interviews for all departing staff and analyze attrition patterns.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate degree with an MBA or PGDM specializing in HR or Personnel Management.
- 5 to 8 years of overall HR experience, with a minimum of 2 years in an independent HR management role.
- Background in retail, fashion, hospitality, or combined retail and production environments.
- Thorough understanding of Indian labor laws and direct experience managing PF, ESI, gratuity, and POSH compliance.
- Proficient in both Hindi and English communication, written and verbal.
- Advanced skills in Excel and experience with HRMS and attendance management systems.
- Based in Gurugram or willing to relocate to this location.
