About the Role
We are seeking a skilled HR Business Partner (m/w/d) to join an international company based in Cologne, Germany. This is a permanent full-time position directly employed by the client. The role involves providing expert HR support and advice while aligning HR objectives with company mission and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and managers, ensuring compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, and established HR procedures.
- Drive organizational change initiatives and ensure follow-up on all personnel-related actions.
- Implement HR goals that support company vision and contribute actively to organizational growth.
- Participate in central HR projects such as health management, change management, talent development, and compensation structures.
- Work smoothly with employee representatives, possessing a strong understanding of works council regulations (BetrVG) to advise management on co-determination and collective labor law topics.
- Contribute actively to end-to-end HR process design and promote the adoption of digital and automated HR tools.
- Provide comprehensive advisement on personnel, management, and organizational issues, including conflict resolution, absenteeism, and legal employment frameworks.
- Act as a facilitator and liaison among HR, service teams, leadership, and employees to encourage collaboration and support change and development processes.
Candidate Profile
- Completed degree in Human Resources management or a comparable qualification, alternatively a solid commercial education with HR focus.
- Minimum six years’ experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, preferably at a senior level.
- Extensive experience working with works councils and proficient knowledge of the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG), especially concerning co-determination obligations.
- Experience operating within global matrix organizations and managing change processes is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling quick adaptation to diverse personalities and building trustful bridges between leadership, employees, and stakeholders.
- Proficient in standard MS Office applications; familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Self-directed, structured, and solution-oriented approach combined with proactivity, creativity, resilience, flexibility, and openness to change.
