About iTeach Schools

iTeach Schools strives to improve the poor state of school education for students from low-income backgrounds in India. Established in 2015, the organization operates free, high-impact secondary schools and a college-to-career program in Pune and Navi Mumbai, aiming to create equal educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth. Currently serving 4500 students and 3000 alumni across 12 schools, iTeach plans to expand to 30 schools and 10,000 students in the next five years.

Role Overview

The HR Payroll Associate will collaborate closely with the HR Manager and Finance teams to handle comprehensive payroll processing, HRMS management, and documentation of employee lifecycle events for iTeach Schools in Pune and Mumbai. This pivotal role ensures precise and timely employee payments, compliance with statutory regulations, and audit-ready payroll data as the organization grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly payroll inputs including attendance, leaves, reimbursements, and deductions with thorough validation and auditing.
  • Coordinate with Finance to facilitate payroll processing for employees, consultants, and interns.
  • Maintain comprehensive HR data and employee records within the HRMS system.
  • Complete onboarding formalities, verify essential employee documents, and update HRMS accurately before salary processing.
  • Maintain confidential, audit-compliant personnel and payroll files.
  • Manage resignation processes including documentation, notice periods, asset clearances, and no-dues confirmations.
  • Prepare and audit full-and-final settlements encompassing unpaid salary and bonuses.
  • Implement salary revisions, increments, promotions, and transfers in the HRMS ensuring correctness of CTC components and statutory compliance.
  • Support statutory compliance processes related to PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, LWF, TDS, gratuity, and bonuses.
  • Maintain compliance calendars, filing of challans and returns, and payroll audit preparation.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding salary, leaves, taxes, and settlements promptly and clearly.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in HR, Commerce, Accounting, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience managing payroll and HR operations independently, including running at least 12 payroll cycles.
  • Familiarity with statutory regulations: Provident Fund (PF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), gratuity, and bonus administration.
  • Experience working with HRMS/payroll software such as Keka or SAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to coordinate among HR, Finance, and school teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The offered salary ranges from INR 450000 to 550000 per annum, reflective of qualifications and experience. Benefits include Provident Fund, gratuity, medical insurance coverage up to INR 300000 annually, paid leave entitlement, annual salary reviews, and career advancement prospects.
