Job description
Role Overview
The Housing Officer is accountable for delivering an effective and highly visible housing management service within an assigned locality in Dublin. This full-time permanent role focuses on excellent customer service and adherence to key performance indicators around lettings, tenancy management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Housing Services Manager to develop operational priorities and delivery plans for housing service functions emphasizing outstanding customer support.
- Assist the Lettings Team in managing vacancies promptly to reduce void periods and rental losses.
- Ensure all housing management activities comply with Tuath tenancy agreements and legal obligations.
- Manage the customer experience throughout the pre-tenancy and letting process within the assigned area.
- Conduct property viewings and sign tenancy agreements as directed by Lettings Coordinators.
- Work jointly across teams and tenures to maintain coordinated services and high customer satisfaction, including partnering with the CREL team.
- Maintain efficiency in property reletting processes to minimize downtime.
- Complete post-letting administrative tasks, ensuring proper property setup for rent and related services.
- Advise tenants on the correct use of landlord-provided appliances, health and safety, and deliver appropriate certification documentation.
- Coordinate with colleagues and external agencies to support vulnerable tenants in sustaining their tenancies.
- Communicate with partners to inform customers about property readiness and tenancy commencement, minimizing organizational rent loss.
- Identify applicants with special needs or risks, collaborating with Housing Services and Tenancy Sustainment teams to offer comprehensive onboarding.
- Provide operational assistance to the Housing Services Manager regarding safeguarding issues, advice, and policy development.
- Address tenancy breaches proactively, including maintaining property conditions and escalating serious violations as necessary.
- Ensure customer feedback informs continuous service improvements and all interactions respect individual rights and protected characteristics.
- Engage customers in environmental improvement initiatives and promote awareness of tenants' rights and responsibilities.
- Participate in estate meetings, community safety projects, and regeneration activities to foster community pride and ownership.
- Implement and monitor housing policies and procedures to ensure legal and customer-focused compliance.
- Partner with internal departments to deliver housing services efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
