Housekeeping Supervisor

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor role at Kempinski Hotels in Dubai involves managing the daily operations of housekeeping on guest floors or public areas to uphold the highest cleanliness standards. This role supports the Assistant Executive Housekeepers and Executive Housekeepers in departmental planning activities.

Primary Duties

• Efficiently assign tasks and supervise both supervisory and non-supervisory housekeeping staff to deliver prompt and courteous service to guests and other departments.
• Inspect public and guest areas regularly to ensure furnishings, facilities, and equipment are clean, in good repair, well maintained, and updated or replaced as necessary.
• Particularly focus on rooms assigned to VIP, VVIP, and frequent guests, ensuring they meet the hotel's quality standards.
• Coordinate with various sections of the housekeeping department and other hotel departments on matters impacting hotel appearance and room status, ensuring communication and follow-ups on pending issues like repairs and room readiness.
• Assist in recruitment, performance management, identifying training needs, devising training plans, and executing training sessions alongside Assistant Executive Housekeepers.
• Conduct monthly training for housekeeping staff to address identified development needs.
• Organize routine supervisor inspections of all housekeeping zones, covering occupied and unoccupied rooms.
• Manage consumption of amenities and cleaning products, ensuring adherence to budget constraints and proper use of tools and equipment.
• Support monitoring of housekeeping protocols, including Lost and Found, Key Control, security, emergency processes, and health and safety guidelines for employees and guests.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business and hotel requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate and operate effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Experience of 2 to 3 years in a supervisory role within housekeeping, preferably in a five-star hotel.
• Capability to build cohesive teams and foster development in staff.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Motivational leadership qualities.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning procedures, techniques, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with cleaning products, machinery, and equipment.
• Understanding of housekeeping operational standards and procedures.
