Host/Hostess

Position Overview

This role involves warmly welcoming guests, assessing their party size, and guiding them to a clean and available table while assisting with seating arrangements. The Host/Hostess is responsible for setting the table appropriately, ensuring all place settings like napkins and silverware are clean and present. They maintain the tidiness of menus and dining areas by regular checks, keeping menus current, clean and free from wrinkles, and upholding cleanliness throughout the workspace following clean-as-you-go protocols.

Key Duties

• Greet guests courteously and seat them by preparing tables and assisting as needed.
• Arrange tables and chairs, especially accommodating groups needing special arrangements.
• Monitor dining room seating availability and overall guest safety and comfort.
• Ensure all place settings meet standards with clean silverware and napkins.
• Maintain cleanliness of menus and dining area consistently during shifts.
• Adhere to all company safety, security policies, and procedures, reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, and uphold company property protection.
• Welcome guests per company guidelines and communicate professionally both in person and by telephone.
• Foster positive teamwork and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns, supporting common goals.
• Be physically capable of standing, sitting, and walking for extended durations; move objects up to 10 pounds as necessary.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent. No prior experience or supervisory background is required. No specific licenses or certifications are necessary for this position.
