Job Overview

The host or hostess is responsible for greeting guests as they arrive at the restaurant, managing reservations or waitlists, handing menus, and escorting guests to their tables. Additional duties include answering phone calls, handling guest inquiries regarding the restaurant and menu options, and supporting restaurant staff as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Effectively oversee the host station operations.
• Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Escort guests to their tables, considering table rotation to optimize seating.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned.
• Collaborate with management to manage restaurant flow efficiently.
• Answer telephone calls and accurately record to-go orders.

Required Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with the restaurant's menu.
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service and remain composed under pressure.
• Willingness to follow instructions and proactively seek clarification if needed.
• Capability to work effectively within a team environment.

Education, Experience, and Physical Requirements

• Prior experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
