Job Purpose
The Hire Controller role involves overseeing depot resources and crane fleets to ensure optimal usage. Supporting the depot manager in daily activities, this position aims to maximize rental revenue and profitability by effectively managing crane and ancillary equipment hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and identify customer needs to offer optimal solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of company products.
- Convert rental inquiries into confirmed orders to meet revenue goals.
- Exploit all sales opportunities to their fullest potential.
- Record and manage customer data accurately.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships internally and with suppliers.
- Efficiently allocate work to employees and manage fleet utilization within the depot.
- Support overall business objectives while adhering to company standards.
- Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Monitor and control operational expenses.
- Ensure all administrative duties and records are precise and current.
- Adhere to legislative requirements as well as internal health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Work flexibly, including handling out-of-hours calls as required.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience:
- Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Previous experience in equipment rental is advantageous.
- Strong telephone communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
