High School Student Counsellor

Role Summary

Seeking an empathetic and skilled High School Social-Emotional Counsellor to provide support for students from Grades 9 to 12. This position focuses on delivering individual and short-term group counselling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning initiatives.

Primary Duties

• Offer personalized counselling and emotional assistance to high school students in Grades 9–12.
• Implement social-emotional learning and well-being sessions covering topics such as resilience, stress coping mechanisms, relationship building, and managing emotions.
• Provide support during student mental health challenges, emergencies, and critical situations.
• Collaborate effectively with school administration, educators, learning support teams, parents, and external specialists.
• Engage in safeguarding activities and child protection protocols while ensuring accurate documentation of student cases.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Master’s degree in Counselling, School Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or closely related discipline.
• Hold relevant professional registrations, licenses, or certifications where required.
• Have at least three years of counselling experience within secondary school environments.
• Demonstrate ability to support adolescents and students from varied cultural and social backgrounds.
• Understand adolescent mental health concerns, safeguarding requirements, and child protection legislation.
• Exhibit strong skills in counselling, managing crises, communication, and interpersonal relations.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• International school experience and proficiency in additional languages are beneficial.

Additional Information

Position commencement date is January 4, 2027. Work is based onsite in Singapore.
