The Healthcare Supervisor role is a full-time, onsite position in Dún Laoghaire, reporting directly to the Branch Manager. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-standard care, managing care assistants, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and enhancing overall customer outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular supervision visits and perform risk assessments related to client care.
  • Oversee onboarding of new customers including creation of detailed Care Plans and risk evaluations.
  • Guide onboarding, training, and assessment processes for new healthcare assistants.
  • Continuously evaluate and monitor quality of care services provided to clients.
  • Collaborate with the Care Manager to prepare, review, and update care plans.
  • Respond promptly to issues and facilitate their resolution efficiently.
  • Foster a cooperative, conflict-free working environment and proactively address conflicts.
  • Assist the Care Coordinator with staff holiday scheduling while ensuring service levels are maintained.
  • Develop trustworthy and honest relationships with customers.
  • Perform other delegated duties including hands-on healthcare assistant tasks.
  • Ensure timely completion of incident reports and maintain updated Carer Competency Assessments.
  • Report all daily complaints to the Branch Manager; provide a full summary if personally managed.
  • Conduct quarterly client reviews to assess service quality.
  • Mentor and guide healthcare assistants effectively.
  • Provide support during on-call hours, including out-of-hours assistance.
  • Ensure that dignity, privacy, and independence of customers are always respected during care delivery.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of QQI Level 5 and Level 6 Healthcare Awards or equivalency.
  • Clean full driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Competence in basic patient care actions such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and active listening abilities.
  • Ability to follow healthcare protocols and instructions accurately.
  • Providing meaningful companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Knowledge of healthcare equipment and devices.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Fluent English language proficiency.
  • Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary of 38,128 Euros.
  • Mileage reimbursement of 0.44 Euros per km or access to a company vehicle.

Working Hours

  • Typically working 3 to 4 days per week.
  • Shifts last 12 hours, totaling 84 hours every fortnight.
  • Work scheduled every second weekend.
  • Shift availability required from 8 am to 8 pm with one hour break daily.
