Job description
Position Overview
Join Westin Hotels & Resorts as a Head Waiter/Waitress, playing a pivotal role in ensuring seamless teamwork, superior guest service, and efficient operation of dining areas at the Dubai Marina location.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate staff efforts to deliver exceptional service and meet guest needs effectively.
- Conduct regular checks on staff grooming and attire, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Handle opening and closing tasks including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment, and securing premises.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of storage areas, applying FIFO inventory methods.
- Carry out scheduled inventories and manage stock replenishments promptly.
- Oversee dining room operations to optimize seating availability, guest safety, and comfort.
- Initiate work orders for maintenance repairs as needed.
- Support management in key HR functions such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, and motivating employees.
- Serve as a role model and the initial point of contact for Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy concerns.
- Adhere to and enforce all company safety and security protocols; report incidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information while protecting company assets.
- Welcome guests warmly, anticipate and respond to their service needs, assist disabled guests, and express genuine appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and guests alike.
- Foster positive workplace relationships, support team goals, and address employee concerns with care.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and actively seek ways to improve organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and reduce costs.
- Perform physical tasks involving standing, sitting, walking for long periods, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, fine motor coordination, maneuvering in confined spaces, and moving up/down stairs and ramps.
- Execute additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma or a G.E.D. equivalent.
- Have a minimum of two years' prior experience in related roles within food and beverage service.
- Demonstrate supervisory experience for at least one year.
- Hold no specific license or certification as a requirement.
