Head Start Custodian

Position Overview

The Head Start Custodian role is based in Allen County, Fort Wayne, IN, offering a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. The starting hourly wage is set at $16.90. This position focuses on ensuring cleanliness and upkeep of both indoor and outdoor areas of the building and playground.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously maintain the sanitation and orderliness of the building's interior spaces.
• Keep the playground area clean and safe at all times.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks and repairs at the main site and various Head Start locations as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a High School diploma or an equivalent certification.
• Preferred: A minimum of two years' experience in custodial services or facility maintenance.
• Capable of working independently with strong self-motivation, attention to detail, organization, cooperation, productivity, reliability, flexibility, and dependability.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within one year of hire.
• For roles involving driving, a valid Indiana driver's license is required along with maintaining auto insurance coverage with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000.
