Role Overview

The Head of Projects will provide comprehensive strategic direction and responsibility for Asico's entire project portfolio. Acting as the crucial link between vision and execution, this leadership role ensures projects are executed with design excellence, sound commercial practices, and superior construction quality. The incumbent will oversee the safe and timely delivery of projects within budget, while championing innovation, sustainability, and adherence to regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and steer strategic leadership and portfolio planning initiatives.
  • Maintain design integrity and uphold technical governance across projects.
  • Lead construction management and act as the primary site authority.
  • Manage project finances and handle commercial aspects effectively.
  • Engage with stakeholders and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Foster team growth and manage operational workflows.
  • Provide regular project status reports and updates.
  • Continuously monitor market trends and assess project risks.

Essential Requirements

  • 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in real estate development or construction project management, including a minimum of 5 years working in the GCC region.
  • Experience must be on the client or developer side, ideally within client representation, PMC, or consultancy; contractor-only backgrounds are ineligible.
  • Proven expertise managing multidisciplinary teams such as architects, engineers, project managers, and BIM specialists, while directly liaising with authorities, financiers, and joint venture partners.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing full project life cycles including design governance, value engineering, contractor oversight, commercial management, and project handover.
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture coupled with PMP certification.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools including AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
  • Deep knowledge of FIDIC Contract Conditions and experience administering FIDIC-related agreements.
  • Fluency in Arabic along with strong English communication skills—both oral and written.
