Role Overview
This leadership position combines strategic oversight and hands-on management of corporate IT systems and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will serve as Head of IT while also fulfilling CISO functions, with responsibilities ranging from managing daily IT operations to developing advanced AI security governance frameworks. This role requires a proactive and technically skilled leader able to navigate security audits, threat management, compliance, and the evolving digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle processes for onboarding and offboarding global personnel, ensuring smooth equipment and access management.
- Oversee corporate hardware procurement, inventory, distribution, and maintenance.
- Design and maintain networking infrastructure, including Wi-Fi connectivity across office sites.
- Administer identity and access controls, encompassing single sign-on and multi-factor authentication systems.
- Handle vendor relations including billing, renewals, vendor selection, and optimization efforts.
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Intune policies and compliance baselines for a cloud-first endpoint environment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Operations, Data, and Platform teams to architect integration solutions for corporate systems.
- Lead continuous SOC 2 and finance-related security audits and third-party compliance assessments.
- Serve as main technical liaison for major partner audits, including Amazon and integrations with QuickBooks, Google, and Xero.
- Create and maintain corporate information security policies and standards in conjunction with People & Culture and senior leadership.
- Formulate AI security frameworks and acceptable use policies guiding secure AI implementations.
- Manage enterprise security tools and vendor partnerships, including Wiz (cloud security) and CrowdStrike (endpoint protection).
- Coordinate annual penetration testing and ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Act as escalation contact for security-related inquiries across customers, sales, engineering, and support teams.
- Engage with legal counsel on data privacy compliance, incident readiness, and security liability matters.
- Develop and enhance internal security awareness training programs to elevate organizational security culture.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum five years in leadership roles overseeing IT operations or security functions, preferably within scaling SaaS or tech firms operating internationally.
- Experience in managing and growing technical teams with a leadership and growth mindset.
- Proven responsibility for SOC 2 (or alike) compliance programs, including audit preparation, control design, remediation, and representation to stakeholders and auditors.
- Competency in AI governance and security controls, sufficient to establish policy directions and evaluate security team recommendations.
- Ability to strategize security tool deployment, such as cloud security posture management and endpoint detection and response.
- Capabilities in overseeing third-party penetration testing initiatives and prioritizing vulnerability remediation.
- Comfortable acting as security escalation point for external-facing security matters.
- Strong stakeholder management skills at executive levels, translating technical risks into business implications.
- Experience managing vendors and budgets effectively.

Compensation
The annual salary range is NZD 160,000 to 195,000.
