Head of Development

Overview

The Head of Development will spearhead the technical vision and strategy of the software development team, ensuring alignment with the company's broader business goals. This leadership role involves managing and nurturing the entire team lifecycle, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture, and continuously seeking improvements in technology and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the technical direction and strategy for the development team aligned with overall business objectives.
• Manage the full lifecycle of the development team including recruitment, onboarding, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
• Promote a positive and productive work atmosphere that encourages collaboration and innovation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and introduce modern technologies to enhance productivity.
• Guide architectural decisions leveraging deep knowledge of software methodologies and best practices.
• Establish rigorous quality assurance practices including code reviews and testing strategies to maintain high standards of reliability.
• Stay current with emerging industry trends to maintain technical excellence.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and execution ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
• Facilitate communication between development and other departments, effectively translating technical language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Build and sustain strong relationships across diverse teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• At least 15 years of total professional experience in relevant fields.
• Minimum of 8 years’ hands-on experience designing and developing scalable enterprise software.
• Over 7 years’ experience leading and managing development teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory.
