Role Summary

The position of Head Barista/Supervisor, based full-time on-site in Doha, Qatar, encompasses leadership and hands-on oversight of daily café operations during shifts. Key responsibilities include crafting and serving specialty coffees and other beverages, caring for equipment, and ensuring both the bar and seating areas remain clean and orderly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and support the barista team, including onboarding and training staff on coffee brewing techniques and service excellence.
• Manage inventory levels and ordering processes for coffee beans, milk, and supplementary supplies.
• Maintain consistent product quality and assist customers in selecting menu items.
• Conduct cash handling and operate the POS system efficiently.
• Address customer service issues promptly and professionally.
• Contribute to menu innovation and implement measures to boost operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proficient barista capabilities including espresso extraction, milk texturing, latte art, and knowledge of specialty coffee brewing methodologies.
• Experience in supervising café teams, with skills in training, coaching, and supporting staff during peak periods.
• Strong customer service skills, excellent communication, and a welcoming demeanor to positively manage guest interactions and feedback.
• Familiarity with cash handling, POS systems, inventory tracking, and adherence to health and safety standards.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills, ensuring precision and consistency in beverage preparation and presentation.
• Willingness to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, including weekends and during busy café hours.
• Experience in specialty coffee settings is highly favorable; additional certifications or training related to coffee are advantageous.
• Proficient in English; additional language skills pertinent to Doha's multicultural environment are beneficial.
