Hardware Technician I

Overview

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions seeks a meticulous and skilled Hardware Technician to support mining systems across customer sites in the Riyadh Region remotely. This role involves deploying new systems and upgrades, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, configuring operating systems, and developing system reports according to client requirements. The position requires extensive knowledge of mining systems and effective collaboration with project managers to ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and review project proposals and plans collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Manage project execution, including phase scheduling and defining project elements.
• Analyze product designs and customer needs to determine project specifications.
• Compose cost estimates and monitor project budgets.
• Implement system configurations, upgrades, and operating system installations on field and server computing equipment following change management protocols.
• Maintain adherence to established project management standards, monitor progress, coordinate activities, and resolve issues.
• Administer service agreements and maintain comprehensive project databases on deployed systems and configurations.
• Write relevant computer programs, manage data input and backups.
• Serve as a technical escalation point to resolve issues beyond the project engineers' scope.
• Foster collaborative relationships with hardware managers, project engineers, and customers.
• Identify and address business risks, inefficiencies, and potential improvements in business applications.
• Stay current with market innovations and recommend solutions to optimize project cycles.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) policies, ethical and compliance standards.
• Adapt to variable working environments including offices and mining sites, possibly involving challenging conditions such as elevated work areas, heat, noise, and dust.
• Uphold company reputation by demonstrating proper conduct and reporting any safety or procedural noncompliance.
• Communicate clearly with customer personnel regarding any issues encountered.
• Continuously seek improvements in system quality, installations, and support processes.

Educational and Professional Requirements

• Possess N6 with trade test, National Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent foreign qualification in Engineering fields such as Computer, Mining, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or a related discipline.
• Have at least two years of relevant experience in the mining industry or hardware installation and maintenance roles.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French is advantageous.
• Experience in working remotely with dispersed teams is highly desirable.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to work weekends and travel to various sites, including international locations.
• Candidate must hold a valid passport, driver's license, and be able to clear a background check.
• Work environments vary and may include challenging conditions such as extreme heat, noise, dust, or elevated work areas.
