Hardware & Network Engineer

About the Role

Gem Fashion Studio is seeking an experienced Hardware & Network Engineer based in Mumbai to manage and support the organization's computer hardware, networking infrastructure, and IT services. This role requires hands-on experience with network setup, troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, and security administration.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and repair computer hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
• Set up and maintain LAN and WAN network configurations alongside routers, switches, and WiFi devices.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues such as slow speeds, downtime, and IP conflicts.
• Install operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) and provide ongoing software support.
• Support basic server and email configurations.
• Manage data backups, update antivirus software, and monitor security systems.
• Provide IT support to staff and maintain detailed IT asset records.
• Design and deploy network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Monitor network performance, analyze traffic, and optimize connectivity.
• Implement network security protocols and access control measures.
• Handle system upgrades, patches, and firmware updates to ensure system integrity.
• Collaborate with IT teams for server, cloud services, and cybersecurity support.
• Maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and procedural manuals.
• Ensure network availability, scalability, and prepare for disaster recovery scenarios.
• Resolve escalated technical issues and provide robust user support.

Experience and Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional experience in hardware and networking roles; candidates must have more than 2 years in the same field.
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, VLANs.
• Hands-on experience with configuring routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networking equipment.
• Proficient with Cisco IOS/Nexus, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto firewalls, and SD-WAN technologies.
• Experience working with Linux and Windows Server environments, VMware networking, and cloud networking platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical skills, and communication abilities.
• Preferably holds academic qualifications like a diploma/degree in IT or Computer Science; certifications such as CCNA, A+, N+, or CCNP add value.
• Only male professionals are eligible; freshers are not considered.

Working Conditions and Benefits

• Working hours from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with two Sundays off per month.
• Monthly in-hand salary ranges from INR 20,000 to INR 28,000.
• Accommodation provided free of charge (excluding personal expenses such as meals).
• Annual performance-based bonus awarded after one year of service.
• Absences on Saturdays and Mondays are counted as two days of leave.
• Company provides a mobile phone and laptop for work.
