Handyman / Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Position Overview

We seek a dependable and practical individual for the role of Maintenance / Facilities Specialist. This role manages the upkeep and maintenance of our facility including offices, common spaces, parking areas, and outdoor grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical and plumbing repairs such as fixing lights, switches, fixtures, faucets, and toilet parts.
• Repair, assemble, install, and adjust furniture, shelving units, doors, hardware, and office fixtures.
• Relocate and rearrange furniture, equipment, and other office items as required.
• Support office relocations, room set-ups, events, and facility-related projects.
• Conduct minor drywall repairs, painting, caulking, and general maintenance tasks.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and identify the need for specialized outside services.
• Assist with landscaping, trimming, exterior cleaning, walkways, parking lots, and overall property upkeep.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of maintenance supplies.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests ensuring timely completion.
• Handle occasional facility cleaning, trash and recycling collection.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain an organized work environment.
• Take on special maintenance projects and duties as assigned.
• Potentially travel to other company sites for maintenance and upkeep tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, handyman work, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong practical troubleshooting and repair abilities.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and furniture assembly tasks.
• Competent in using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely.
• Capable of independent work, prioritizing tasks, and quickly attending to facility repair needs.
• Reliable, detail-conscious, and professional demeanor.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with employees, vendors, and contractors.
• Ability to assess when a repair requires specialized or licensed service providers.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Physically able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance work.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be able and willing to work onsite in Burbank, California.
• Candidate must consent to a pre-employment background check.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
• Must hold a valid California driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Applicants must be minimum 18 years old.
