About the Role

Join Honey Homes as a skilled handyman or maintenance technician based in Palo Alto and the Peninsula, performing full-time home repair and maintenance work. This position offers steady, local work with no weekend or evening shifts and includes excellent pay and comprehensive benefits. You will serve a dedicated territory of 40 to 50 homes or contribute to our residential remodeling crew, working under supportive management and a Member Success team.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage of $40, equating to approximately $83,000 annually, plus equity opportunities.
• A $1,500 sign-on bonus awarded after completing training and remaining employed for 30 days.
• Mileage reimbursement provided for local travel between jobs.

Work Schedule

• Full-time employment with a 40-hour workweek.
• Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• No obligations for evenings, weekends, on-call duties, or mandatory overtime.
• Work is confined to a localized Peninsula territory, not the broader Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform multi-trade residential home repairs, maintenance, and remodeling tasks including carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical work, and smart home device installation.
• Carpentry tasks such as door installation, trim and molding, framing, dry rot repairs, deck and fence repairs.
• Interior painting, drywall patching, and caulking.
• Minor plumbing repairs including toilet, faucet fixes, valves, and clearing drains.
• Electrical work including installation of light fixtures, outlets, switches, ceiling fans, thermostats, and small wiring projects.
• Mount and install TVs and smart home devices.
• Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for assigned home systems and appliances.
• Provide excellent customer service and develop lasting relationships based on trust and professionalism.
• Utilize a proprietary app to document jobs, tasks, and schedules efficiently.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, carpenter, remodeler, or multi-trade residential professional.
• Expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and drywall with strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair home issues independently.
• Detail-oriented approach combined with a friendly and trustworthy demeanor.
• Possession of a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and personal tools necessary for the role.
• Physical capability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders and overhead, and navigate confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces, with or without accommodations.
• No licensing requirements for contractors, electricians, or plumbers are needed as permitted tasks are managed separately.
