Job Overview

Honey Homes is seeking experienced handymen to deliver quality home repair and maintenance services within a dedicated Chicago territory. This role involves steady, well-compensated work managing around 40-50 residential properties with predictable hours and no weekend or evening shifts.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage of $35, equivalent to $72,800 annually, plus potential equity ownership.
• Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with no overtime, evening, weekend, or on-call duties.
• Generous time off including 12 paid holidays and 13 days of paid time off/sick leave.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute a variety of home repair and maintenance tasks across carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and smart home device installations.
• Handle carpentry duties including door installation, trim work, framing, and repairs.
• Conduct painting and drywall patching tasks ensuring high-quality finishes.
• Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing toilets, faucets, and minor pipe issues.
• Manage electrical jobs like installing fixtures, outlets, and small wiring assignments.
• Care for a focused set of homeowners, providing consistent maintenance service and building trusted long-term relationships.
• Utilize company mobile app to monitor work orders, schedules, and task completion.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of five years hands-on experience as a handyman or maintenance technician covering multiple trades.
• Proficiency and experience in carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Previous roles as maintenance technician, carpenter, plumber, or electrician are highly preferred.
• Excellent practical knowledge of residential home repair and upkeep.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent problem-solving capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail with workmanship such as neat caulking and professional painting finishes.
• Customer-oriented mindset with effective communication and listening skills.
• Must own a reliable vehicle, have a valid driver’s license, and possess necessary tools.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and work safely on ladders or scaffolding up to twelve feet.
