Job Overview

This position is based at an on-site barbershop or hairstyling salon located in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Remote work is not an option for this role. Candidates should possess a hairstylist license and either hold a trades certificate or diploma related to hair styling or have equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage client appointments efficiently.
• Cut and trim hair tailored to each client's preferences and instructions.
• Shampoo customers' hair professionally.
• Trim and shave beards and mustaches.
• Provide hair treatments including waving, straightening, tinting, and scalp conditioning massages.
• Apply bleaching agents, tints, dyes, or rinses to color, frost, or streak hair.
• Perform various hair styling techniques such as cutting, tapering, curling, waving, perming, and finishing styles.
• Advise clients on hairstyle choices compatible with their physical features and tastes.
• Carry out receptionist duties as required.

Required Credentials and Specializations

• Valid hairstylist license.
• Hair styling expertise with blow drying, iron waving/curling, permanents, and roller setting.
• Experience with hair coloring techniques including bleaching, dyeing, frosting, streaking, and highlights.
