Job description

Position Overview

Take charge of leading the new Gyprock Trade Centre located in Direk, South Australia, and play a critical role in shaping its success from the ground up. This full-time position reports directly to the Area Manager and offers a competitive remuneration package, including benefits such as limited personal use of a site vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, promoting a secure environment for team members, customers, and the public by conducting routine safety inspections across the site.
  • Manage staffing activities including hiring, training, and supervising employees to maintain outstanding customer service and high operational standards.
  • Lead sales efforts, market the store and its products, support and implement marketing initiatives aimed at boosting customer engagement and sales growth, and develop and maintain client accounts using business analytics for informed decision making.
  • Oversee financial aspects by monitoring the store's profit and loss performance and implementing strategies aimed at enhancing profitability.
  • Guarantee compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Coordinate customer deliveries and provide hands-on support as necessary.

Candidate Profile

  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service and fostering strong, trustworthy relationships.
  • Comfortable with retail systems and technology; prior related experience is a significant advantage.
  • Holder of a current forklift licence, with an MR licence or willingness to obtain one preferred.
  • Background in retail or trade environments highly regarded.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a team setting is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and relevant transport regulations.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative, team-oriented attitude, always ready to support colleagues and work collectively toward common goals.

Work Schedule

This role operates Monday through Friday within the hours of 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
