Role Overview

This full-time position based in Castleisland involves operating guillotine cutting machinery to precisely trim printed materials according to specifications. Duties include interpreting job instructions, measuring paper dimensions, conducting test cuts, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety benchmarks. The operator will also perform regular machine inspections, basic troubleshooting, maintain a clean work environment, and collaborate closely with press and finishing teams to meet production deadlines. Adherence to health and safety guidelines and participation in continuous process enhancements are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate guillotine cutters safely and accurately.
• Interpret job tickets and measure paper sizes to ensure correct trimming.
• Conduct test cuts to verify settings before production runs.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance troubleshooting.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.
• Work collaboratively with other production team members to achieve timely order completion.
• Follow all health and safety procedures diligently.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in production workflows.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience operating guillotine or similar cutting equipment, including set-up and adjustment skills.
• Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in print finishing or comparable environments.
• Strong attention to detail combined with good numeracy and measurement proficiency.
• Ability to interpret job instructions, dockets, and quality standards accurately.
• Effective organizational skills, time management, and teamwork abilities suitable for fast-paced production.
• Commitment to maintaining workplace safety, quality control, and fostering continuous improvement.
• Previous background in print finishing or industrial manufacturing is preferred.
• Relevant vocational or technical training is advantageous.
