Job description
Position Overview
We are searching for an accomplished Senior Security Architect to spearhead the establishment and integration of security architecture practices within a leading financial services organization with a global footprint. This senior role reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and involves shaping long-term security strategies and governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and govern a comprehensive security architecture function, including operational models and strategic direction.
- Integrate security protocols into the software development lifecycle, advocating a security-by-design philosophy across engineering teams.
- Design and continuously improve secure infrastructure frameworks for both cloud and on-premises systems.
- Create, enforce, and upkeep security policies, standards, and reference architectures in line with regulatory mandates.
- Collaborate with various teams to align security controls with business goals and compliance demands.
- Oversee security solution architectures ensuring they meet scalability, integration, and resilience targets.
- Advise senior leadership on evolving security architecture and threats.
- Lead ongoing enhancements of security capabilities adopting contemporary concepts such as Zero Trust.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, notably in security architecture roles.
- Proven track record in establishing or advancing security architecture functions within complex enterprises.
- In-depth experience with enterprise infrastructures, including cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure.
- Background working within regulated industries, preferably financial services.
- Ability to influence executive stakeholders and navigate multiple technical areas.
- Familiarity with established frameworks such as NIST or equivalents.
Preferred Skills
- Practical knowledge of implementing Zero Trust security frameworks.
- Understanding of emerging risks, including those related to artificial intelligence.
- Experience with secure software development and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Insight into business continuity and resilience strategies.
- Professional certifications like CISSP, SABSA, or TOGAF are valued.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Industry-recognized certifications in security or architecture are a strong advantage.
