Job description

Role overview

This is a senior finance leadership opportunity in a rapidly expanding global technology business operating across several jurisdictions. The position sits at the core of financial governance, with responsibility for protecting reporting accuracy, strengthening controls, and supporting a scalable operating model. You will combine hands-on technical accounting knowledge with strategic oversight to improve accounting operations, reporting quality, and finance infrastructure. As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will help shape key decisions by delivering clear, timely, and reliable financial insight in a fast-moving, international, and collaborative environment.

This role is being shared on behalf of a partner company that manages the application review and all subsequent steps. The employer is seeking a Group Financial Controller located in Ireland.

Key accountabilities

  • Own the full financial control framework and ensure reporting is accurate, complete, and reliable across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, including statutory accounts and management reporting.
  • Build, refine, and embed financial policies, control activities, and governance structures that can support global growth at scale.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet control, oversee reconciliations, review journals, and manage close activities so reporting remains timely and compliant.
  • Coordinate external audit work and serve as a principal contact for auditors, tax authorities, and outside advisors.
  • Improve finance systems, workflows, and data quality, including the use of automation and AI-supported tools where suitable.
  • Ensure the business remains aligned with changing regulatory expectations across multiple countries and with IFRS requirements.
  • Guide, coach, and develop members of the accounting team while encouraging accountability, accuracy, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in senior accounting or financial control positions, preferably in a global technology or SaaS setting.
  • Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent credential, supported by strong academic achievement.
  • Deep working knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards, including experience with complex multi-entity structures.
  • Practical experience using ERP platforms such as NetSuite or similar systems, along with advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, audit procedures, and governance practices within international organisations.
  • Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to problem-solving with a focus on accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, including confidence in working with senior leaders and external partners.
  • Background in fast-growth or transformation environments, with exposure to process improvement and systems implementation projects.

Benefits and perks

  • Competitive yearly compensation, benchmarked to experience and market conditions.
  • Annual performance bonus and regular compensation review cycles.
  • Flexible working arrangement, with fully remote or hybrid options depending on location.
  • Annual learning and development allowance.
  • Generous paid leave and family leave policies.
  • Home office assistance and equipment support where applicable.
  • International, distributed team environment with exposure to global collaboration and travel opportunities.
  • Employee wellbeing and support programmes.

Application and data notice

The application is handled by the partner company, which also manages screening, interviews, and next steps. A matching process is used to review applications against the core requirements and share a shortlist with the hiring employer. Final decisions are made by the employer's internal team.

By submitting an application, you acknowledge that personal data will be processed to assess candidacy and share relevant information with the hiring employer in line with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. The process may also involve AI tools to support parts of review and assessment, but human judgment remains central and final hiring decisions are made by people.
