About Corson and the Role

Key Responsibilities

As the Group Financial Controller based in Gisborne, you will hold a critical leadership position guiding the finance function for both New Zealand and Australian operations. Your duties include overseeing financial management, compliance, reporting, cash flow control, risk assessment, and strategic financial planning across the group. You will collaborate closely with operational managers to boost business performance by delivering valuable financial insights and strategic advice. Additionally, you will manage and mentor a small team responsible for transactional finance and customer services, directing budgeting, forecasting, and detailed financial analyses to ensure precise and timely reporting for stakeholders such as the board and shareholders.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate must hold CA or CPA professional accounting qualifications and possess a comprehensive understanding of IFRS financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. Expertise in management accounting, including pricing strategies, revenue and inventory cost analysis, is essential. You should combine strong technical acumen with a strategic outlook, showing commercial insight and a willingness to challenge existing processes. Familiarity with manufacturing sector complexities is highly beneficial.
