Group Finance Manager

Overview

Kennedy & Partners Recruitment seeks an experienced Group Finance Manager / Financial Controller to join a well-established international company. This pivotal senior finance role demands oversight of group financial reporting, financial controls, statutory reports, auditing, and finance operations within a multi-entity framework. The position suits a Finance Manager or Financial Controller looking to extend their scope beyond narrowly defined reporting tasks to broader group-level financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and consolidated group reports.
• Manage financial consolidation and reporting processes across multiple entities.
• Ensure the accuracy of balance sheets via thorough review of reconciliations, controls, and month-end procedures.
• Coordinate year-end closing and statutory financial statement preparation.
• Oversee the external audit process, acting as the primary liaison for auditors and external advisors.
• Support tax compliance and reporting obligations throughout the business.
• Enhance financial controls, accounting policies, and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with transactional finance and shared-service teams to promote efficient financial operations.
• Support cash flow management, working capital, and treasury functions.
• Work collaboratively with finance and operational teams across various entities and jurisdictions.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, streamline processes, and strengthen control environments.
• Contribute to finance system development, ERP enhancements, and transformation projects.
• Provide senior management with insightful financial analysis.
• Participate in ad hoc commercial, operational, and strategic projects across the group.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or comparable credentials.
• Substantial post-qualification experience within an industrial context.
• Proven track record of people management.
• Experienced in preparing and reviewing management accounts, statutory accounts, and consolidated group financial reports.
• Familiarity with multi-entity and international/multi-jurisdictional environments.
• Strong expertise in financial controls, balance sheet oversight, and month-end closing routines.
• Experienced in managing or coordinating external audits.
• Sound understanding of tax, treasury, and working capital processes.
• Proficient with ERP and accounting systems, ideally with involvement in their improvement or implementation.
• Capable of balancing detailed financial reporting duties with broader commercial business issues.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
