Role Purpose
The Group Finance Director will helm the financial division overseeing profitability, cash flow, funding, planning, foreign investments, regulatory compliance, and sustainable expansion for the organization’s operations spanning India, Germany, and Vietnam. Reporting closely with the Managing Director and Board, this leadership position plays a a critical role in steering financial strategy across geographies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze profitability metrics by company, country, product, customer, and shipment; drive improvements in gross margin, EBITDA, and net profit; identify underperforming areas and initiate rectifications.
- Steer the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasts, monitor budget adherence, and create financial plans for growth opportunities and business ventures.
- Oversee group treasury functions including cash flow management, liquidity, working capital optimization, and fund sourcing aligning with procurement and operational needs.
- Manage banking products such as credit limits, packing credit, letter of credit, bank guarantees, and export finance; nurture relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Supervise foreign investments and fund transfers across Indian and overseas entities, ensuring compliance with FEMA, FDI/ODI, and related regulations.
- Develop currency risk management strategies addressing exposures in INR, USD, and EUR, including hedging mechanisms.
- Optimize working capital by improving inventory, receivables, and payables processes, shortening cash conversion cycles, and unblocking tied capital.
- Evaluate capital expenditures including factories, machinery, infrastructure, and new projects through financial metrics like ROI, IRR, payback periods, and cash impact analysis.
- Implement and strengthen internal financial controls, governance frameworks, statutory compliance, tax adherence, and oversee statutory, internal, and international audits.
- Prepare and submit consolidated monthly financial management information system (MIS) reports encompassing key indicators to the Managing Director and Board.
- Provide financial insights and commercial assessments to support pricing, investment, funding, expansion, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams across the organization, setting KPIs, control frameworks, and reporting timetables.
Ideal Profile
The prospective candidate will be a commercially savvy finance professional with significant experience in international finance, treasury and fund management, banking, export finance, profitability and working capital oversight, foreign investments with regulatory knowledge, forex and risk management, taxation and transfer pricing, financial controls and audit, and investment appraisal. Preferably with 10 or more years of experience, including international business exposure, they should excel in guiding strategic financial decisions directly with top leadership.
Experience in export-driven, agri-commerce, food, organic, or international trading sectors will be highly advantageous. The individual must hold a CA qualification; an MBA in Finance is desirable.
