About the Role

Our client, a successful and expanding business based in South Wales, is embarking on a new phase of growth. They are seeking a skilled and commercially minded Finance Director to guide financial strategy, enhance business outcomes, and support long-term expansion plans. This senior leadership position offers the chance to influence the company's financial direction and key commercial initiatives directly, contributing to its ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crafting and executing a financial strategy that fosters sustainable, profitable growth and long-term value generation.
  • Evaluating and renegotiating supply chain contracts to improve commercial terms, raise operational efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Leading extensive financial modelling and investment assessments focused on transitioning to low-carbon activities aligned with the company's carbon reduction goals.
  • Overseeing cost structures strategically to protect profitability and ensure resilience amid changing economic landscapes.
  • Collaborating with executive leadership and departmental heads to identify and implement measures for operational efficiency enhancement and expenditure management.
  • Revising the annual commercial strategy alongside Directors and department leaders to align pricing with market trends, costs, and business objectives.
  • Ensuring high standards of corporate governance and compliance with statutory financial regulations.
  • Leading the yearly audit process and maintaining productive relationships with external auditors and other key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA with extensive senior-level finance leadership experience post-qualification.
  • Strong expertise in technical accounting with thorough knowledge of IFRS standards.
  • A demonstrated history of building, leading, and motivating effective finance teams.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent commercial acumen capable of translating complex financial data into strategic business recommendations.
  • Strategic thinker with the confidence and initiative to challenge and influence across organizational levels.
