Job description

Position Overview

The Grounds Supervisor role at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, based in Ummahat Island 1, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, is a full-time, on-site position within the landscaping and grounds category. This non-management position involves overseeing grounds maintenance and landscaping operations while supporting management tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, and place orders for plants, replacements, and supplies within budget limits.
  • Record and monitor water usage from pumps and wells to ensure efficient resource management.
  • Conduct minor repairs on structures using hand and power tools.
  • Prepare and apply chemical treatments to manage pests, weeds, and diseases, maintaining records of fertilizer and pesticide use.
  • Install, operate, and maintain irrigation systems.
  • Operate tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of staff, acting as a role model.
  • Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies; report defective equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Protect company assets and anticipate guests’ service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally; prepare and review written documents accurately.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships to support team goals; respond appropriately to employees’ concerns.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and expectations.
  • Visually inspect tools and equipment for defects; maintain physical readiness through standing, sitting, walking for long periods, and handling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform tasks involving manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and physical agility including climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces.
  • Manage snow removal and ice maintenance if applicable.
  • Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in relevant grounds maintenance work and 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Required: Valid Driver’s License.
