Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Report to the Technical Crew Training Manager within the assigned management framework.
- Conduct comprehensive theoretical and practical training on Ground Support Equipment (GSE), acting as a Subject Matter Expert and Instructor to maintain exemplary technical and teaching standards.
- Create manuals, instructional guides, curricula, and training resources that match course goals. Assist fellow instructors by implementing training methods designed to actively engage and improve trainee learning.
- Review and suggest enhancements for training documentation, manuals, and course content to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Engage in trainee assessment meetings to identify improvement areas, devise suitable development plans, and conduct both formative and summative evaluations to document trainee progress and learning needs.
- Manage the coordination of all assigned training activities and projects, ensuring alignment with operational and training objectives.
- Design and deliver GSE training programs, including structured training pathways and On-the-Job Training (OJT) modules.
- Identify training necessities while overseeing the procurement, control, and management of testing materials, training aids, and other instructional resources.
- Maintain up-to-date GSE Specialty Training Standards (STS), training courses, and essential documentation.
- Develop and regularly update publications, technical manuals, and instructional materials related to GSE.
- Offer expert advice to senior management on GSE staff competency development and training needs assessment.
- Evaluate the technical teaching quality and performance of assigned personnel, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for their professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess at least a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an aviation training program specializing in Ground Support Equipment (minimum two years duration) or an equivalent qualification.
- Have a minimum of five years' documented experience working with aviation Ground Support Equipment in military or civilian settings.
- Bring at least three years of experience as a GSE Instructor or in a comparable technical training position.
- Preferably hold a Level 7 qualification as a GSE Technician or an equivalent high-level technical certification.
- Must have formal Instructor Qualification or a Certificate from an Instructor Training Course.
- For candidates whose first language is not English, an IELTS score equivalent to 6.0 or higher is preferred; English proficiency may also be evaluated during interviews.
- Proficient with office software and Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
