About the Role

Join Google as a Graphics Software Developer focused on advancing the graphics infrastructure within the Chrome browser. This position is based in Montreal and involves enhancing the processing and rendering capabilities to ensure fast, secure web browsing across multiple platforms. You will participate in key projects impacting billions of users and collaborate with diverse teams in a cutting-edge technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize the Chrome graphics pipeline for better performance and security.
  • Investigate and implement new features for the WebGPU API and its shading language, contributing to the dawn project to improve efficiency and usability for developers.
  • Work on the ANGLE codebase to address complex API state issues and mathematical bugs.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce security vulnerabilities, including implementing memory safety within the graphics components and higher-level defenses.
  • Collaborate with the local technical lead and cross-functional teams, employing AI tools to enhance engineering productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing software using C++.
  • Preferred education includes a Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • At least 5 years demonstrating proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience in graphics programming, including low-level driver and GPU programming.
  • Familiarity with graphics APIs is highly desired.

Compensation and Benefits

Individual remuneration depends on skills, background, and education, with the Canadian salary range set between 182,000 CAD and 186,000 CAD annually.
