Role Overview

We are seeking a Backend Engineer specialized in Go (Golang) to build and enhance the core backend services underpinning Hyperlayer’s orchestration engine. These mission-critical, high-throughput systems facilitate financial clients in creating and managing Smart Accounts. The role focuses on developing clean, well-tested Go code while prioritizing system reliability, performance, and operational health.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Go within Hyperlayer’s orchestration platform.
• Participate in architectural planning of new features, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and practical design.
• Write idiomatic, thoroughly tested Go code and engage actively in code reviews to uphold quality standards.
• Implement event-driven, asynchronous service patterns utilizing message queues and event streaming.
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries for relational databases like PostgreSQL to ensure scalable performance and accuracy.
• Oversee the operational stability of production systems, including monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Platform, DevOps, and other Engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and support deployment processes.
• Contribute to documentation, best practices, and engineering decisions across the team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience developing backend services in Go, with strong understanding of concurrency and Go programming idioms.
• Expertise designing and implementing RESTful APIs or microservices for production use.
• Competence in working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
• Knowledge of message queuing and event streaming technologies such as Kafka is advantageous.
• Background in fintech, financial services, or similarly regulated, reliability-critical domains is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams.
